A few things recently seen and heard around Gulfport…

It’s beginning to look a lot like the holidays throughout the city. The holiday street lights are up and the Christmas tree was placed in front of the Casino on Sunday November 27, along with decorations at private residences and businesses throughout the city … The Catherine Hickman Theater will host the opening reception for Dual Lens: Scott Linde and Annamarie Sisson on December 2 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in addition to the rescheduled showing of “Seed”at 7 p.m…The Gulfport Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held in Clymer Park on December 5 at 7 p.m. with a light refreshments, a sing-a-long and Santa visit … The Boca Bay Grille Marketplace, featuring local fine art, coffees, fresh daily pastries, wine tastings and more to come in a beautiful setting, officially opens on December 2 after a successful soft opening the week before … The “adopted artist” at the Gulfport Art & Gallery Walk on December 2 is RJ Schlabach, owner of Rejoys Art, who will display her original paintings and one-of-a-kind clothing in front of sponsor Boca Bay Grille from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m … Help clean up the beach at the Gulfport Beach and Area Cleanup hosted by Gulfport Neighbors on December 10 at 9 a.m. at Pavilion #4 … Over 50 artists from St. Petersburg and Gulfport are participating in The Art of Giving event December 3 and 4 at various studio locations to help promote the area’s thriving arts community and the shop local movement.
