Although the temperatures are still in the 90s, there are signs of fall popping up all around Gulfport … The Gulfport Merchants Association held its quarterly mixer at the Catherine Hickman Theater on September 26. Some cool new events are planned for the fall season. Appetizers were hosted by Tangelo’s Grille … Fall classes are starting at the Gulfport Recreation Center including Watercolors with Patsi, Yoga and a Weekly Hoop Jam … The whole town is gearing up for the Gulfport Chef’s Table on October 3, the outdoor four-course fine dining experience along Beach Boulevard featuring nine Gulfport restaurants. Proceeds benefit CASA … Join Gulfport Mayor Sam Henderson and St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman at the Third Annual Mayors 49th Street Cleanup on October 1 starting at the Tangerine Greenway, sponsored by Gulfport Neighbors and the Childs Park Neighborhood Association Manatees on the Bay hosts live reggae music every Sunday … The LGBTQ Resource Center at the Gulfport Public Library will host a free monthly LGBTQ film series on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. beginning October 13 … Peter Hargitai will give his final reading as Gulfport’s first poet laureate at the Gulfport Public Library on October 25 … Two big events are happening at the Gulfport Casino in October. The Peace, Love & Women music festival on October 15 will feature some of Tampa Bay’s finest female musicians. Monster Mash will be a night of ghoulish fun on October 29 to benefit the Gulfport Senior Center. Tickets to both events are available at the Beach Bazaar … The Ship Store renovations at the Gulfport Marina are almost completed … BoTiki will host a fall fashion show fundraiser to benefit the Michael J. Yakes Foundation on October 22 … The Ink Tank Literary Afternoon moves back to The Blueberry Patch on October 2 featuring an open mic.
