Empty Bowls St. Petersburg

April 11, 2015 @ 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Donation includes soup and bread in hand made bowl

Reid Dawson, a local art student from Eckerd College is presenting his Senior thesis project for his interdisciplinary arts major by giving back to the community. His art project is “The Empty Bowl Saint Petersburg Project.” Empty Bowls is an international grassroots effort to fight hunger. The idea behind the project was to gather local artists and craftsman together to show the art community’s support towards helping people in need. The idea is simple, come to the event and buy a handcrafted bowl then enjoy soups and breads donated by local businesses. All proceeds of the event will be donated to the St Vincent De Paul Homeless Shelter to help feed the homeless and less fortunate neighbors right here in St. Petersburg. The event will also include live music, artist demonstrations and a silent auction of local artists artwork.

The 2015 Empty Bowls Saint Petersburg event is Saturday, April 11th from 1-6PM at The Clay Center of St. Petersburg, 400 23rd Street South, Saint Petersburg, FL, 33712 (727)-439-8522.
If you would like to donate to the project please call Marilyn Brownlee at St. Vincent de Paul (727)-823-2516.
