Strategies for Success; Honing Your Professional Skills In 2017

Is your New Year’s resolution to improve your business skills and polish your professional image? Join Business and Professional Women (BPW) of St Petersburg-Pinellas for “Strategies for Success,” a monthly workshop series starting January 28, 2017, and continuing through April from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00. The workshops focus on personal development and professional skill building for individuals looking to change careers, secure employment or advance in their profession.
The Workshops are being held in John Hopkins All Children’s Hospital Conference Center at 701 4th St South, St. Petersburg. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. Each workshop includes a mid-morning break for refreshments and networking. The workshop cost is $20 each for BPW members and $25 each for non-members. January 28: “Don’t Let the Cloud Rain on Your Parade.” Learn how to manage today’s technology and your internet presence with the dynamic Pat Huston, a professional Edu-Tainer.
February 25: “Understanding Me to Build a Strong We.” Learn how to manage different personalities and build strong teams with Melanie Turner of MD Consulting and Nikki Gaskin-Capehart, Director of Urban Affairs for the City of St Petersburg.
March 25: “Go for the Win-Win.” Learn to effectively negotiate in any situation and lead people where you need them to go with Bonnie Kesler, M.A., Ed.S, an instructor at St Pete College and Venita Garvin, a 30-year advocate for women’s issues.
April 22: “Perception Matters.” Learn how to manage your presence in a digital world and discuss ethical decision-making with Kristina Alspaw, VP of Tourism for the Clearwater Chamber of Commerce and Jennifer Webb, Director of Community Partnerships at USF.
