A Vision of Pancakes

February 5, 2014 by The Gabber

LionsPancake Lion Maria Salley dishes up scrambled eggs at Saturday’s Pancake Breakfast. The Gulfport Lions offer a myriad of fundraising activities throughout the year, including last Saturday’s pancake breakfast and the March 8 shrimp boil. This past weekend’s breakfast raised about $400, according to President Art Padula.

The Lions Club, a service club that works with an assortment of vision-related charities, seeks not only pancake fans but also new members. Dues cost $50 per quarter, plus a one-time $50 fee to Lions International. The club meets at 7 p.m. at 4630 Tifton Drive South in Gulfport the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.

“We need members,” President Padula said. “We love new members.”
