Eckerd Sale Nets Bucks Despite Rain

April 6, 2016 by Helen J. Simon

Eckerd sale

Students rush to put away marine-related items before the start of a major thunderstorm that cut short by an hour the 30th Annual Eckerd College Marine Yard Sale Saturday, April 2 at the college waterfront. The event was a success despite the rain, said Ryan Dilkey, coordinator of the Eckerd College Waterfront Program. “We had a great crowd,” he said. All proceeds from the sale benefit the Eckerd College Search and Rescue Team, a volunteer student organization founded in 1971 that provides free maritime search and rescue to the Tampa Bay boating community.
