Head to St. Petersburg for Art Walk
October 10, 2020
Free
After seven long months, St. Petersburg’s Second Saturday ArtWalk returns. Although it doesn’t look quite the same — due to COVID-19, the trolleys won’t run, so you’ll definitely get your steps in as you stroll from place to place (and you might want to think about driving to locations like the Black Lives Matter street mural in front of the Carter Woodson Museum at 2240 9th Ave. S. (the museum itself remains closed.)
The Second Saturday ArtWalk, organized by the St. Petersburg Arts Alliance, takes you to five different parts of St. Pete, all suspiciously close to downtown (where’s our west side ArtWalk, hmmm?): Galleries in the Central Arts District, Grand Central District, Warehouse Arts District, and the downtown Waterfront Arts District will welcome in-real-life visitors. Every venue could have different COVID guidelines, so bring a mask and come prepared to enjoy art at a socially distanced pace. Our pick: Steven Kenny, whose work you can see at ARTicles. Mask up and get your art on in St. Petersburg Saturday! Note that each venue has different hours and while, in a pre-COVID world, the ArtWalk took place at night, in the interest of social distancing, it’s now an all-day-and-part-of-the-night affair.
