Kenny Davis, left, and his son Trey, both of Madeira Beach, stand by their respective rides at the 9th annual Pass-a-Grille VW Beach Bash on Sunday, October 15. Kenny’s is a 1964 Microbus while Trey’s is a 1966 Beetle. Both men built their Volkswagens from parts they bought at car shows, swap meets, online and through networking.
“Me and my dad started building this when I was 15,” said Trey, who is now 20. “We built the whole car from the ground up pretty much.”
“They definitely turn some heads,” Kenny said of the cars, which both men use as their primary vehicles and drive daily.
