Erin Bell, 38, and Andrea DeFelipo, 37, flash a smile as they display their marriage certificate. The couple became a part of history on January 6 as the first same-sex couple to be married in the downtown St. Petersburg Pinellas County courthouse, located at 1st Avenue North. Their ceremony was held in the Pinellas County Clerk of Court chapel. As the couple emerged, the crowd waiting outside, comprised of other couples waiting their turn, reporters and representatives from Equality Florida, cheered. Everyone from the clerks and support staff to the security guards were supportive, positive and ecstatic. For couples all over the state, the long-awaited moment has finally arrived.
