Girl Survives Near Drowning in Family Pool
A 23-month-old girl narrowly escaped an accidental drowning in her family’s swimming pool in Tierra Verde at about 3 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16 according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
According to deputies, Kaylee Siebenthal was playing near the pool at 436 3rd Ave. N. in St. Petersburg, while her mother, Pamela Siebenthal, 47, was nearby supervising.
The mother looked away for a few seconds and when she turned back to check on her child, she saw Kaylee in the pool not moving, according to the report. Pamela jumped in the water and pulled Kaylee out of the pool. The child was unconscious when Pamela called 911 and began chest compressions on her.
Prior to the arrival of paramedics from Tierra Verde Fire Rescue, Kaylee began vomiting and regained consciousness, according to the report. The child was transported to All Children’s Hospital for non-life threatening injuries and she is expected to make a full recovery.
Deputies say that the incident appears to be accidental in nature.
