Members of the Gulfport Merchants Association and the Gulfport Area Chamber of Commerce rode the Gulfport Trolley, provided by the city of Gulfport for Shopapalooza on November 28.   The groups volunteered to promote Gulfport’s businesses at the day-long event at South Straub Park in downtown St. Petersburg. Shopapalooza, sponsored by LocalShops1.com, is an annual event intended to encourage shoppers to support local independent businesses during the holiday shopping season.  Hundreds of people visited the trolley, picked up information about Gulfport, and spun a “wheel of fortune” to receive prizes.
