Gulfport police said a resident dropped off a check to pay their Duke Energy bill on Oct. 20 at a U.S. post office.
According to the Gulfport Police Department, “someone changed the check to $13,000 dollars and attempted to cash it. The bank stopped the check and no money left the account.”
No arrests have been made and the case remains under investigation, according to GPD Detective Jennifer Crowson.
