Between the Pride festivities and the Fourth of July, another celebration was taking place at craft breweries across Florida last week. On July 1, it became legal to fill a 64-ounce growler, a refillable glass container approximately the equivalent of a six-pack, that can be purchased at breweries, then filled with a favorite beer and taken home. Previously, only 32-ounce and 128-ounce growlers could be used to transport beer. After some failed attempts, through uncommon bipartisan support in the Florida Legislature, the 64-ounce size is now legal. Brewers and customers alike celebrated at their favorite location and on Facebook and Twitter, with hashtag #fl64.
