A historic bungalow in St. Petersburg’s Grand Central District is entering a new chapter. The former Craftsman House Gallery will reopen as Karma Kitchen and Bakery, a new concept from the owner of Karma Juice Bar & Eatery.
The 1918 property at 2955 Central Ave. will open in July. The space will feature indoor dining, a bakery and an outdoor edible garden.

The space previously housed the Craftsman House Gallery. It operated since the early 2000s as an art gallery, gift shop, music venue, and café.
Longtime owner Jeff Schorr closed the gallery late last year. He sold the property to Karma owner Josie Barber and real estate investor Robert “Bob” Roberts.
Roberts plans to transform the courtyard into a rose garden with herbs used in Karma’s dishes. The courtyard and indoor dining areas will accommodate up to 200 people.
Longtime Karma employee Ashley Stover will oversee the bakery.
Karma Juice Bar & Eatery has operated in St. Petersburg for more than a decade. At the new location, Barber plans to condense the menu and introduce dishes inspired by her Filipino heritage.
