It is important to secure your belongings, especially during the holidays, but when those belongings come in the form of packages in the middle of the day, it can be tough to make sure they are secured.

That was the problem for one resident of the 1400 block of 55^th Street this week. The resident reported two packages left by UPS stolen off of their front porch of their home.

This week also saw the unusual crime of a toilet theft. Over the weekend, a thief broke into the restroom of Gulfport Storage on Tangerine Avenue and unbolted and stole a toilet. The thief also made away with a city garbage can.
