Man Dies After Bar Fight on St. Pete Beach

November 4, 2015 by Colin O'Hara

Pinellas County deputies responded to a 911 call at Mermaid’s Gentleman’s Club on St. Pete Beach on Saturday, October 24 regarding an injured person.

The victim, 35-year-old David Yost, jumped into a physical altercation between his friend and a club staff member.

Deputies report that several other people jumped into the brawl to assist the staff member and subdue Yost.

When deputies arrived on the scene, Yost was breathing but unresponsive and was transferred to Palms of Pasadena hospital in South Pasadena where he was pronounced dead at 3:53 a.m. on October 24.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.

Police report that the altercation started over an argument regarding unpaid debts from the customer to the club. Police are not releasing the names of anyone else involved in the altercation.
