Murder-Suicide Claims Mother, Daughter
St. Petersburg Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide where the daughter shot her elderly mother and then killed herself on Sunday, November 6.
It happened at about 11:30 a.m. at the Osprey Pointe Apartments, 5511 17th Way S., Building C, Apt. 7. A 19-year-old granddaughter returned from the store to find her grandmother and great-grandmother dead from gunshot wounds.
This is still under investigation, but preliminary information leads detectives to believe Elizabeth Mitchell, 69, shot her mother, Curley Williams, 90, and then shot herself.
The deceased women and the granddaughter lived together in the apartment. No one else was in the apartment at the time.
