Mobil Unit Helps Community Health

June 15, 2016 by Helen J. Simon

DSC_0367 Tyna Middleton of St. Petersburg fills out a form as she waits for a health check in the Pinellas County Urban League’s Mobile Medical Unit during the Enoch Davis Center’s yard sale and information day Saturday, June 11. Middleton, who volunteered in the center’s kitchen during the event, was having her blood pressure and cholesterol checked.

“I take advantage of everything that comes along,” she said laughing. Center Recreation Leader India Johnson said the focus of the event was to inform residents about services available from area businesses and organizations.

“This is to bring the community together in a positive atmosphere,” she said. “We’re trying to bridge the gap, leave the negative alone that could be in between.”
