November 9, 2016 by Helen J. Simon

The weather couldn’t have been better as visitors chowed down at the 86th annual Pass-A-Grille Fish Broil on Sunday November 6 at Horan Park in St. Pete Beach and children played on bounce rides and climbing walls. The event was a fundraiser for three area schools: Gulf Beaches Elementary, Montessori by the Sea and St. John’s School. Organizers cleaned and cooked 908 pounds of mullet for the event, which relies on donations from area businesses. There was music, raffles, live and silent auctions, and more.

From left, fish-meisters Robert Smith, Bill Pyper and Chris Wilson man the grills at the 86th annual Pass-A-Grille Fish Broil on Sunday November 6 at Horan Park in St. Pete Beach. Bill and Chris cleaned 908 pounds of mullet donated by Madeira Beach Seafood while Robert took charge of the cooking. The three men have handled the fish at the fundraiser for at least six years and continue volunteering even though their children have graduated to other schools. They said the fundraiser comes together every year through involvement from the community and donations from area businesses.
