New Police Cars in Gulfport

Gulfport City Council voted unanimously at the Tuesday, November 18, meeting to buy four new police cars.

The police department replaces its vehicles every 80,000 miles. The cars replaced include two patrol sport utility vehicles, one patrol car and one administrative car.

The city will purchase two 2015 Ford Police Interceptor sport utility vehicles ($70,634 total) and two 2014 Dodge Chargers for patrol and administrative use ($63,917).

Gulfport Chief of Police Rob Vincent said he expects to receive a $10,000 trade-in allowance, bringing the total cost for four vehicles to $124,551.
