At the Tuesday, April 7 regular meeting, Gulfport City Council authorized a resolution to contract West Coast Roofing and Contracting, Inc. for the Gulfport Recreation building’s new Fluid Applied Roofing. According to the resolution’s agenda memorandum, “The existing lower roof on the Recreation Center building was installed in 1987 [and recently] has been experiencing many leaks due to the age of the roof system.” The new roof improvement is aimed at eliminating these leaks. West Coast Roofing and Contracting, Inc. came in with the lowest bid of the four companies who vied for the job. The project’s cost will not exceed $28,480.
