Recognizing First Responders

Henderson Vincent MarenkovicAt the January 20 Gulfport City Council meeting, Mayor Sam Henderson declared February Gulfport First Responders Appreciation Month.

“The commitment is a 24/7 responsibility,” the mayor read from the proclamation, “routinely requiring service late at night, on holidays, on weekends, and often on a moment’s notice…The city of Gulfport wholeheartedly appreciates the sacrifices of our first responders… and we are especially indebted to those who have given their lives in service to others.”

The mayor presented the proclamation to Gulfport Police Chief Rob Vincent and Fire Chief James Marenkovic.
