The daughter of the late Terry Tomalin and former Deputy Mayor Kanika Tomalin named a Woodson Warrior Scholarship winner. Next fall, she’ll head to Barnard at Columbia University in New York to study human rights law.
Jane Bunker’s lily paintings raised more than $100,000 in the last four years – but not only for the sake of making art. Bunker sells her flower pieces each year to raise money for the Woodson Warriors Scholarship Program, a program that awards academic funds to local students.
The Woodson Warriors scholarship grants Black high school seniors in St. Petersburg up to $5,000 annually to continue their education.
