Tuskegee Time: Gulfport’s Newest Arbor Additions
Gulfport horticulturalist Toffer Ross told The Gabber she wanted to plant Tuskegee Crape Myrtles because “the word Tuskegee has a certain embrace in what we now recognize as African American history.” She planted the trees near the cemetery, not on the actual property.
