Matt Bright of Gulfport and his first dog, Han Solo, enjoy some ball fetch time together on Tuesday, May 10 at Gulfport’s Dog Park, at the northeast corner of 28th Ave. S. and 54th St. S. within walking distance of their home. Han is a 6-month-old chihuahua, dachshund and pit bull mix that also enjoys watching “Scrubs” on Netflix or chewing on a 4-point deer antler Bright brought back from the American West while on a recent backpacking trip. Bright says he stuffed it in one of his packs and transported it as checked baggage.
As a long-time “Star Wars” fan, Bright couldn’t resist naming his dog after the character made famous by Harrison Ford with the 1977 release of the first film in the series. Bright’s Jeep also sports a movie-themed tire cover.
