A popular Tierra Verde waterfront restaurant is under new ownership, with Caddy’s Sunpubs Restaurant Group taking over The Island Grille & Raw Bar.

Former owner Steve Westphal, who operated the restaurant for four years, described the transition as one of “mixed emotions.” In a social media post, he said the decision reflects a season of growth and change for him and his wife, Nancy, as they look forward to spending more time with family, friends, and grandchildren.
Westphal said customers can still find him at Parkshore Grill, a Beach Drive staple in downtown St. Petersburg since 1996.
“Thank you to our staff and our customers,” Westphal wrote. “It’s been a wonderful journey and we look forward to the present of your presence.”
Sunpubs plans to keep The Island Grille name, according to Westphal. The restaurant is at 210 Madonna Blvd.
