Gulfport’s popular Tuesday Fresh Market celebrated its tenth anniversary on February 23 at the Gulfport Merchants Association booth with congratulations from the community – and a giant birthday cake. The market has been a Gulfport staple since 2006, and now features over 70 vendors year-round along Beach Boulevard in an open-air setting.
“Community-driven support and a family of great vendors have enabled us to continue for 10 years and we plan to continue for 10 more,” said Susan Blankenship, co-manager of the Tuesday Fresh Market, with Chris Spencer and Marsha Warner.
Angela Lagan dressed for the occasion in a “Birthday Girl” t-shirt as she placed candles on the cake. Well-wishers clapped and sang along as Gulfport Mayor Sam Henderson cut the birthday cake while Bill Vinhage played “Happy Birthday” on his guitar.
