Local municipalities are preparing for the 2018 municipal elections. The cities of Gulfport, St. Pete Beach and South Pasadena have set their qualifying periods for the council seats in their respective municipalities, which will begin soon. The election date is Tuesday, March 13, 2018.
Residents of Gulfport will elect two councilmembers, one for Ward I and one for Ward III. The qualifying period begins Monday, December 4, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. and ends Monday, December 11, 2017 at noon. Candidates for councilmembers shall be a resident of their Ward for at least one year prior to the date of qualification. St. Pete Beach
St. Pete Beach residents will elect two city commissioners, one in District 1 and one in District 3. The qualifying period begins on November 30, 2017 at noon and ends on December 18, 2017 at noon. Candidates for city commission must have resided in the district for which they are running for one year prior to the date of qualification. Residents of the city of South Pasadena will elect two commissioners. Qualifying begins at noon on November 1, 2017 and ends at noon on November 15, 2017. To qualify, candidates must have been a resident of South Pasadena for one year. In addition, candidates shall be a duly qualified elector.
