Seahorse Restaurant, a Pass-a-Grille institution since the 1930s, has reopened after more than a year of repairs following hurricane damage.
The waterfront breakfast spot at 800 Pass-a-Grille Way closed in late 2024. It had sustained several feet of flooding during Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
Seahorse originally opened in 1938 as one of the area’s early drive-in restaurants, In 2024, the St. Pete Beach Historic Preservation Board granted Seahorse historic designation.
Seahorse is known for traditional breakfast dishes including omelets, pancakes, French toast, biscuits and gravy, and shrimp and grits. Lunch offerings include seafood platters, burgers, sandwiches, soups and local favorites such as black beans and rice and Cuban-style grilled chicken.
Despite extensive repairs, the owners restored the restaurant to match its longtime look. That includes wooden booths, historic memorabilia, taxidermy displays and beach-themed decor.
