Artists Leslie and Markel Leland have opened Mix Studio at 5812 28th Ave. S. in Gulfport.
The shop opened in mid-March. It offers art, fine craft, vintage goods, clothing, jewelry, housewares, gifts, toys, secondhand finds, and other handpicked wares.
Leslie Leland, a painter, fabric artist and mixed-media artist, has been designing with her husband, Markel Leland, since the early 1990s.
A Soft Opening
In a Facebook post announcing the opening, the Lelands described the debut as a soft opening.
“We hope that you’ll stop by, take a look, check us out, say hello. We’ll have a Grand Opening coming up, this little ‘soft’ opening will help us get rolling,” the post said.
Mix Studio is located in Town Shores Plaza, which also includes The Pearl Restaurant and Comfort Cafe. The shop is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, and by appointment Sundays and Mondays.
