John’s Pass is getting a little darker after sunset. On June 27, Hubbard’s Marina opened Pirate Ghost Tours, a guided nighttime walk that blends maritime history, pirate lore, shipwreck tales, and paranormal legends from the waterfront.
Stories From the Waterfront
The tour explores the Tampa Bay coastline’s maritime past through documented history, local folklore, and stories passed down through generations.
“This tour combines the rich maritime heritage of John’s Pass with the thrill of paranormal storytelling,” Capt. Dylan Hubbard said. “Guests will discover fascinating pirate lore, mysterious shipwrecks, and eerie local legends while exploring one of Florida’s most historic waterfront destinations after dark.”
Along the way, guides share stories about Gulf Coast pirates, maritime disasters, unexplained encounters, and legends connected to John’s Pass.
History, Humor and Suspense
The one-hour walking tour is designed for guests aged 13 and older.
Guides combine history, humor and suspense to create an immersive experience for history buffs, paranormal fans, and visitors looking for something different to do after sunset.
The tour may also appeal to families with older teenagers and skeptics curious about the area’s darker stories.
Pirate Ghost Tours Now Open
Tours run Fridays and Saturdays at 9 p.m., immediately following Hubbard’s Marina’s Sunset Pirate Cruise.
Tickets cost $24.95 per person. Because tour sizes are limited, reservations are recommended.
