Madeira Beach Commissioners unanimously approved a tentative $37.8 million budget for fiscal year 2027 and kept the city’s property tax rate at 2.7500 mills during a Sept. 9 meeting.
The tax rate is unchanged from the current fiscal year. It is 0.55% higher than the rollback rate of 2.7349 mills.
The City expects the tax rate to generate about $5.65 million in General Fund property tax revenue. That compares with $5.46 million budgeted for fiscal year 2026.
Commissioners approved the tentative tax rate and budget in separate 5-0 votes. There was no discussion or public comment before either vote.

That’s not all that happened at the Sept. 9 Madeira Beach Commission meeting. Read about a sheriff contract, splash pad fees, a November election, stormwater, and the City Attorney’s retirement.
The budget includes about $37.78 million in expenditures and transfers out. The City expects about $32.53 million in revenues and transfers in.
The roughly $5.25 million difference will come from existing fund balances and net position. Much of that amount is tied to a $6.21 million capital improvement plan.
Commissioners will vote on the final millage rate and budget at a special meeting Sept. 18 at 5 p.m.
The next regular Madeira Beach Commission meeting is Oct. 14 at 6 p.m.
