Gulfport wine fans received some bad news Wednesday, Sept. 9, when The Wine House, 2913 Beach Blvd. S., announced it would be closing its doors.
“This Sunday, Sept. 13 will be the final day for The Wine House,” Wine House owners Paige and Matt Acree wrote on Facebook. “Join us as we raise some final glasses, light some final logs on the smoker, and enjoy one last evening on our gorgeous covered patio.”
The Wine House opened March 15, 2023, in a small pink building that was previously Backfin Blue.
“At that time, Gulfport needed wine and BBQ,” Paige said.
The Acrees also own Gulfport Brewery + Eatery, 3007 Beach Blvd. S., an establishment that Paige says will remain open for business.
Paige also hinted online and to The Gabber Newspaper that some Wine House wines may appear on the menu at Gulfport Brewery + Eatery soon.
When asked why The Wine House was closing, Paige said she could “not talk about it.”
“There are no words to describe the love and gratitude we have for this Gulfport community, all we can say, is from the absolute bottom of our hearts, thank you,” The Wine House wrote on Facebook. “Thank you for loving us.”
