Fees Waived for Former Kenneth City’s “Eyesore”
The Town Council unanimously approved a fee waiver for the property located at 5804 54th Ave. N. owned by Soni Holdings, LLC.
Previously an ice cream shop, the building’s successor, Driftwood Kava & Coffee Roasters, covered the building’s ice cream swirl structure in orange spray foam. The property accrued $6,550 in code violation fines from Kenneth City.
“I spent $40,000 to remove it,” said Amar Nathwani of Soni Holdings, LLC. “I’ve been a man of my word. I’ve done the right thing,”
“It’s been an eyesore for a long time,” Mayor Megan Zemaitis said. “It’s something we’ve been hoping for, working together to get this done.”
