The Oct. 16 Kenneth City Town Council meeting featured a packed agenda, including a contract with the new Town Manager.
Town Council discussed other items such as a five-year Strategic Plan, and an extension of court hours at Ernst Park. Additionally, they examined a waiver of code violation fees for the Kenneth City Driftwood Kava & Coffee Roasters building.
Kenneth City’s New Town Manager
The Town Council approved a contract with new Town Manager Don King, Jr., pending a series of edits requested by King.
“There’s only four things that I request on here be changed,” King said. “And if we agree upon that, then I’ll show up and get busy.”
That’s not all that happened at Kenneth City’s Oct. 16 Town Council Meeting. Read about hurricane comments, Ernst Park, and waived fees and strategy plans.
The Council approved the revisions, which include increasing the annual salary to $125,000 from $120,000, a monthly automobile allowance of $700 instead of $619, along with 16 weeks of severance pay rather than 10 weeks, and an annual 3% cost of living allowance.
Police Chief Mike Vieno received a plaque at the meeting in recognition of his leadership and service as Interim Town Manager over the past six months, following the Council’s decision to terminate the previous Town Manager.
